Perfect tap and basin partners
Here at bathstore we have a wide range of stylish taps and beautifully crafted basins, but how do you decide which taps compliment which basins? Well, to give you a hand we have done the hard work for you and listed our matches made in heaven! Hope you find these partnerships as delightful as we do.
Wave & Archive
To start, we have the super stylish Wave mono mixer tap matched with the gorgeous Archive basin. This basin can also be matched with a wide variety of our furniture units to create your own unique bathroom look. The Wave mono mixer tap has a stunning brush chrome finish and an overall modernist feel. A great colour scheme with this basin would be a luxurious looking mother of pearl tile with simple and modernist accessories such as our Nimbus range.
Fusion & Chiltern
Next up there is the Fusion mixer tap which is chrome plated to prevent rusting and only needs a 0.2 bar pressure to ensure a consistently great water flow. This has been paired up with the simplistic and functional Chiltern basin which is inspired by the gently rolling hills of its namesake. This basin and tap pairing look great with natural colours such as white, hessian and earthy tones for a classic style with longevity.
OpenWater & Arif
The next perfect tap and basin pairing is the OpenWater washbowl mixer tap which features a hyper modern open faucet, allowing for a visually stunning cascading water effect. Matched with the Arif gloss black bowl this basin also comes in a slightly smaller wash bowl style. The elegant and sophisticated look of having a washbowl placed on top of a bathroom unit is a popular style. The real black marble of the Arif bowl compliments a large variety of bathroom looks; however greys and beiges will really contrast well.
Bensham & Savoy
Here we have the classic Bensham luxury basin mono mixer with Victorian style accents, which has been matched with the Savoy Contemporary basin. Both of these together make for a perfectly classical style that will suit any period and new build. Both of these products have been finished to an extremely high standard and will look great paired with blue and white accents to create a modern classic style, which is a key trend for 2014.
Next, there is the OpenWater washbowl mixer making a second appearance, this time paired with the MyPlan 600 basin unit finished with a white gloss giving a modern and clean finish. Another option is to use the Alpine 660 basin and floor standing vanity unit which includes the basin and vanity unit in one, offering style and storage in one great piece. Both cabinets are moisture resistant and have been manufactured from acrylic-wrapped particleboard which means they can endure even the steamiest of bathrooms.
Lastly we have the Ferndale sage green 600 unit and ceramic basin top paired with the Bensham Basin Mono Mixer. The Ferndale unit is in the perfect tone of sage green to fit in with the bathstore Hedgerow trend for 2014 why not include darker toned accents to really get the essence of this look. You could try adding a more modern and streamlined look by incorporating a tap model like the Quatra Basin Dual Lever Mixer.
When choosing which taps would be the perfect compliment to basins, keep a few things in mind:
- Be sure to pick a basin corresponding to the type of tap you want, for example don’t pick a pillar tap if your basin only has 1 tap hole.
- Don't be afraid to try out a traditional looking tap with a modern looking basin or vice versa - sometimes the least expected partnerships can be the perfect pairing
- Ensure you have enough room before buying your dream taps and basin. There's nothing worse finding out after you've bought them!
We hope this helps your decision making and remember, have fun choosing your perfect tap and basin!
