Walk-in showers are the cutting edge of modern bathroom design. Promoting an almost open-plan style of bathroom, a walk-in shower is a fresh, contemporary and luxurious addition to the home. If you’re thinking of designing your own spa-like sanctuary at home, then we’ve got all the information you need to design the perfect walk-in shower.
What is a walk-in shower?
Unlike most other shower enclosures, a walk-in shower is completely free of doors, providing a brilliant showering experience and making the very best use of the space.
A walk-in shower is a stylish addition to the bathroom that’s unobtrusive and its door-free design doesn’t impact on other bathroom fittings. If you love nothing more than an open and spacious showering experience, then a walk-in shower is an investment that will pay dividends, providing a truly luxurious and indulgent experience.
How does a walk-in shower work?
The walk-in shower cubicle largely comprises of a shower tray and screen, so you can step straight into the shower, without opening any doors. The glass front gives an open and spacious feel to the shower, too.
A walk-in shower will work in almost any room, but its design may limit where it can be positioned in the room, for example, if you’ve got low eaves, which restrict the wall space.
What’s the difference between a walk-in shower and other types of shower?
Aside from their streamline design, which doesn’t require the use of any doors, the walk-in shower also has a separate drying area. This means that rather than stepping out of the shower cubicle to dry, you can simply step to the side, grab your towel, and stay nice and warm as you towel yourself dry, without dripping water onto the bathroom floor.
